This morning, at 1:24 AM, Temple Police Officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of S. 51st Street in reference to a report of a male bleeding. The complainant reported an unknown male subject had come to the house asking for help.

Responding officers found a 37 year old man had been shot several times with a handgun. The victim was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital for treatment of the non life threatening injuries.

Officers located evidence the incident occurred near S. 51st Street and S. General Bruce Drive. At this time the suspect’s identity has not been determined. Detectives from the Temple Police Department’s General Investigations Unit are handling the investigation, and are attempting to determine the events that led to this shooting.
