Killeen Police investigate deadly altercation at Shell station.

Officers responded to the report of shots fired in the parking lot of the Shell Gas Station located at 1600 N. Roy Reynolds Drive, on Friday, October 07, 2016, just after 9:00pm.  Upon the officers arrival they located one male who was suffering from a gunshot wound.  Lifesaving measures were attempted but the male succumbed to his wounds.  The 38 year old male was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at 9:54pm, he also ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The preliminary investigation revealed that there was an altercation between two males that involved weapons, shots were fired, one male was shot and the other male fled the area on foot in a northern direction.  Officers continue to look for the male who fled.

The name of the deceased male has been withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.
